Gemotions

The hum of the computer was a familiar background noise; today, it sounded like a lullaby. Sarah had spent the whole morning cleaning her desk meticulously, leaving nothing behind. She felt as though a weight had been lifted. The air in the office was fresh. She’d even put fresh flowers on the desk.

The new recruit, a nervous girl named Jessica, arrived, clutching a binder. Sarah waved her in, her voice light and breezy.

“Come on in, Jessica! Don't look so worried. We're going to get you set up in no time. Grab a seat! I’ve got it all ready to go.”
